Friday June 19th, 2020 was a landmark day for Global Networks Academy of Technology. This date marked the first ever scholarship award ceremony for the Global Networks Inc. Cyber Security Career Preparedness Scholarship, an information technology (IT) certification-based award that presents the winner with three consecutive 6-week courses focused on industry recognized cyber security certifications. The Academy was pleased to announce Samuel Akolo of River Hill High School as the proud recipient of this year’s Scholarship.
The ceremony was opened by Thomas Moore, one of the academy’s educational coordinators who spoke about Global Networks Inc.’s “culture of creating opportunities in the cyber security field and sharing those opportunities with others”. Global Networks Inc. COO, Toni White, followed offering her enthusiastic support on behalf of the company, “We are delighted to be a part of the next chapter of Sam’s life!”. Finally, Ronny Nadiv from Howard County Chamber of Commerce presented Samuel with the Certificate of Excellence from the Chamber’s president and CEO.
Global Networks Inc. wishes to extend a warm congratulations to Samuel for winning our first ever scholarship award. Samuel shows a keen interest in cyber security and technological advances in the field of IT in general. His academic history is stellar and his determined spirit was evident from his inspirational submission to the scholarship award board.
